About FXbuddy

FXbuddy is built by Tiny Tapes, a one-person studio run by an editor who got tired of spending more time hunting for the right plugin than actually cutting. I built the tool I wanted: describe an effect in plain English, and it drops onto your timeline seconds later.

Why I built this

Modern editors are expected to deliver cinematic VFX shots on turn-arounds that didn't exist a decade ago. Traditional VFX pipelines weren't designed for that pace. Generative AI is — but only if it meets editors where they already work.

So I built FXbuddy as a native CEP extension inside Premiere Pro and After Effects. No browser round-trips, no file exports, no context-switching. You type, the shot lands.

What I believe

Editors should spend their time on taste, pacing, and story — not on wrangling nodes. Every shortcut I build is meant to get you back to the edit faster.
