How do I install FXbuddy?

Download the FXbuddy installer from the button below or from your account. For macOS, click this link; for Windows, click this link. Unzip the downloaded file to find the .zxp installer package.

Open the free ZXP Installer tool (available at aescripts.com/zxp-installer), drag your .zxp file onto it, and follow the prompts. Once installed, restart Premiere Pro or After Effects completely.

To launch FXbuddy, go to Window → Extensions → FXbuddy in either app. Log in with your license key and you're ready to generate your first VFX.

How do credits work?

Every plan comes with a monthly credit allowance that resets on your billing date. Pro includes 3,000 credits per month; Starter includes 500. One credit is roughly equivalent to one generation.

Topup credit packs are available for purchase separately and never expire. When your monthly credits run out, FXbuddy automatically draws from your topup balance instead. Topup credits carry over month to month, so you'll never lose them.

You can check your current balance at any time in the account dropdown (the person icon in the top-right) or by opening the FXbuddy panel inside Premiere Pro.

I'm using FXbuddy on two machines — how does that work?

Each FXbuddy license supports two simultaneous machine activations. That means you can have the plugin active on your desktop and your laptop at the same time with no issues.

If you need to switch to a new machine, simply sign out of the FXbuddy panel on the old computer first. Open the panel, click the profile icon, and choose "Sign out." This frees up the activation slot immediately.

Lost access to the old machine and can't sign out? Email us at tinytapeshelp@gmail.com and we'll manually release the activation for you.

I lost my license key

No problem — your license key is always shown at the top of this page when you're logged in. If you're locked out of your account entirely, use the form below to have your key resent to your email address.

Enter the email you used to sign up and click the button. For security, we won't confirm whether an account exists for that address, but if it does you'll receive your key within a few minutes.

What's the difference between 720p / 1080p / 4K upscale?

720p is the fastest option and available on every plan. It's great for prototyping and social media deliverables where a small file size matters more than maximum resolution.

1080p is available on Starter and Pro. It delivers sharp output suitable for most broadcast and streaming deliverables with only a modest increase in generation time.

4K is available on Starter and Pro. It produces the highest quality output ideal for cinema and high-end delivery, but expect generations to take 15–30 seconds longer than 1080p. Choose 4K when quality is the top priority and you're ready to export a final cut.

Why did my generation fail?

Generations occasionally fail due to brief processing hiccups. When that happens, FXbuddy automatically queues a single retry on your behalf with no action needed from you.

If the retry also fails, the credit for that generation is automatically refunded to your balance. You'll see the refund in your credit count within a few minutes.

If you're consistently seeing failures, it may indicate a broader service issue. Check our status page for real-time updates, or email tinytapeshelp@gmail.com if the problem persists.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Click the "Manage Subscription" button at the top of this page. That opens your Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel your plan with one click. No hoops, no phone calls.

After cancelling, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period — you won't lose access mid-month. Your remaining plan credits are usable until that date.

Any topup credits you've purchased never expire and will still be available on a free account after your plan ends. You can resubscribe at any time without losing your topup balance.

How do I get a refund?

Within 7 days of your purchase, we offer a full refund, no questions asked. Email tinytapeshelp@gmail.com from the email address on your account and we'll process it promptly.

Beyond 7 days, refunds are handled case-by-case. We're a small studio and we care about fairness — reach out and explain the situation, and we'll do our best to make it right.

Note: please include your license key in your email so we can find your account quickly and process the refund without delay.

What about my privacy and uploaded videos?

Your source clips are transmitted securely to our processing pipeline and are automatically deleted from our servers within 30 days. We do not retain, review, or share your footage beyond what's required to complete the generation.

We do not train any AI models on your content. Your creative work belongs to you.

For complete details, read our Privacy Policy. If you have specific data deletion requests, email us at tinytapeshelp@gmail.com.
